Product details
Handmade in my North Carolina studio, this Juneteenth wreath honors June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved people were free—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is now a federal holiday celebrated across America as a day of freedom, reflection, and joy.
The wreath features a globe sign and black, red, green, and gold, representing African American people, the blood and sacrifice of ancestors, the land of Africa and hope for the future, and prosperity and the road ahead. Made with chenille, fabric ribbon, deco mesh, and a metal frame, it measures 18 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep. It arrives ready to hang; the photo on a standard 36-inch door shows its scale.
